We believe it is our mission to be the mouth of God in the world.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Jesus commanded us to fulfill the Great Commission.
The command He delivered included more than just telling people about Jesus. Jesus wants us to tell people about Him, to convince them to accept Him as their personal Savior, to baptize them, and to teach them to believe and do everything that he commanded.
At Lighthouse Baptist Church we believe that it is our mission to be the mouth of God in the world. When we obey the command that Jesus gave, we fulfill the mission he left for us: to share the light of the Gospel in Flint, MI and around the world.
We believe it is our mission to be the hands and feet of God in the world.
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; And that which he hath given will he pay him again. (Proverbs 19:17)
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:14)
Jesus commanded us to care for others.
The principle of showing the love of God to the poor and helpless in the world can be found throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, the principles of Proverbs show us that we are wise when we give to the poor. In the New Testament, Jesus commands us to allow children to come to Him.
We believe that it is our mission to be the hands and feet of God in the world. Our walk with God is not complete if we leave out sharing the love of God with others. We should allow the principles and commands of God to work in our lives; allowing Him to work through us in the lives of others.
